Time Management

Have you noticed that when we were young(er) that we had more time than when we matured? Why does time moves slower when we are bored than when we are having fun? Well, I was wondering about these questions when God gave me definition of being an ADULT.

  • Acting
  • Diligently
  • Under
  • Limited
  • Time.

We all know that God gave us 24 hours for a reason. If we are to take out 8 hours (for sleeping) that means we have 16 hours left. Jesus said that God gave us 12 hours of the day and 12 hours of the night. (john 11:9)  What counts is, how do we spend the 16 hours we have to do things that are of importance to us? We tend to “NOT” have enough time because of our TIME MANAGEMENT. If being an ADULT mean acting diligently with the time we have that means that when we assume that we do not have enough time to do anything, then we have not matured to being an adult and time management is something we all need to work on.

Time is man’s important asset and when we do not make use of it effectively, IT IS A SIN. How is it a sin? I’ll give you a scenario. Have you ever gone through a day and you feel like you didn’t accomplish the goal of the day? and when you ask yourself what you did for that day, it all seems less important. That is what we call procrastination and that day is a wasted day. If we go a minute without doing our purpose on Earth, we are wasting time. A bird does not cease to be a bird because it understands that his purpose on earth is to be a bird.

There’s a fine line between procrastination and laziness. Sometimes we procrastinate because something came up but most of the time we postpone is because we lazy. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop.” With that being said, when we are bored and time moves slower is because we have programmed our mind not to do anything as of that time. The devil uses those opportunities to come through and fill our mind with things unnecessary that’s why some of us fall short in pornography, shopping addiction, and things that does not glorify God. When we take our time and understand that when we ask God to be our LORD that we are giving up everything about us and allowing Him to be our master. We do not own ourselves anymore because He has paid us full price with His blood. With us being paid for, it means that we ought to devote our time to HIS TIME. HIS TIME is always getting to know Him (understand that most bf/gf ask for TIME together and that’s so they can know more about each other either by talking or going out on a date) as your friend, and as our Almighty Father.

Now, I’m not saying that EVERYTIME you are bored to pick up the bible and read, but what i’m saying is, God comes first, every other thing comes second. Meaning, if you have given God His time, it is okay for you to do assignments, complete that project or at least start on it, study, do laundry, pay bills, etc. STOP putting things off to get at them later on. That’s why we think there’s not enough time on Earth, but God who is smarter and possess infinite wisdom gave us 24 hours. That’s enough time to do anything that is pleasing in His sight.

Here is a trustworthy saying, WHATEVER YOU GIVE YOUR ATTENTION TO, WILL GIVE YOU DIRECTION.

With that being said, the question is, “What is your purpose on Earth and how are you walking in that purpose?”

Great posting!! I agree that procastination could be a sin when you do not set your priorities right. Realizing what is important to you could save you time, it might not be beneficial to you at the moment, for example; decision on staying in school and working. Only you needs to answer the question no one else.
    Again great posting!
